Finally, back to blogging, and there is no better burger to start with than the savory cheeseburger from BB Lemon on Washington Avenue. This new cool spot is the brainchild of Benjamin Berg, owner of B&B Butchers. The excitement this burger generates comes from Mr. Berg himself. After testing and tasting, the 80/20 Wagyu grind was the final answer to one of the best burgers I have had in a long time. Apparently, others think the same as BB Lemon has been packing in crowds since their early November opening.
This burger is a true classic. Juicy char-crusted patty, tangy cheddar cheese melting evenly over the sides, along with onions topped off with a slightly sweet and glistening bakery bun makes this one tasty hamburger. The side of slightly spicy house-made pickles was a nice touch. From the first bite, the juices were flowing. The full-flavored patty is definitely the star here - just the right amount of salt, pepper and seasoning that does not over power. Crispy thin onion strings and Fried Brussels were nicely paired with my burger. And, the mason jar of banana pudding put my meal to bed.
Let me make this perfectly clear - I am a huge fan of the hamburgers at BB Lemon. Well-done, BB! (Benjamin Berg)
Cheers to Eating More Burgers in 2019!
