Burgers and craft beer make a great combination. While the Houston area has many great craft beer breweries serving delicious food, one place is a stand-out, especially in the burger department. Krabach Brewing Company in near Northwest Houston has and award-winning chef driven kitchen with inspired offerings in their on-site restaurant and patio. Overlooking the brewery is an inviiting but industrial setting with dining tables, bar tables, and a long bar flanked by beers on tapped. For beer lovers, this is a welcome site. For burger lovers who have not yet discovered this hidden gem, make your way over to Karbach for a darn good burger.
Karbach is local, so it is befitting that their Brewhouse Burger is made with local ingredients. 44 Farms grass fed beef is topped with leafy lettuce, white cheddar cheese, lettuce, beefsteak tomato and house-made pickles. Packaged together, this burger had flavor, juices flowing from the medium cooked patty, a tart taste, and was topped with a sensational sweet Hawaiian bun toasted to perfection and grilled on top. A side of perfectly crispy thin fries, with a tender middle, was truly mouthwatering. I could not stop eating them until there were no more. Beyond the delectable burger, other not to be missed menu items include Shrimp & Grits, Brussel Sprouts, and the scrumptous Korean Fried Chicken. But, try the burger first, as that was most enjoyable.
My visit to Karbach was on a Saturday night, which is their most popular evening. Even though we arrived at 6:30, the place was packed and there was an hour wait. So, I suggest making a reservation, but even if you do wait, it's a fun place to spend time - sampling beers (Weekend Warrior), enjoying some appetizers (Blackbird Pretzel served with House Boudin), and people watching (too many varieties to list).
Cheers to Eating More Burgers!
