What better way to celebrate my birthday than with a burger. I decided to invite a group of family and close friends to join me at a recent find - "The Chopping Block" on the trendy Washington Avenue Strip in Houston. My comfort zone burger is generally the same formula - meat, cheddar, bacon, lettuce, onion, a light dusting of mayonnaise, topped with a fried egg. But, for the celebration, I decided (at the age of 53 - yes I'll admit to my REAL age) to mix things up a bit and had the meat, cheddar, bacon, guacamole, jalapeños, lettuce, pickles and tomatoes. Words that come to mind are juicy, flavorful and deliciousness! While the burgers were excellent, the best part of the evening was the group I had join me for the celebration, so their photo is the one I will post. The best gift of the evening came from my talented niece, Elizabeth, who presented me with the logo for this blog. So a special shout out and thank you Elizabeth.
Cheers to Eating More Burgers!
