Starting a new position, in an unexplored part of town, is always a bit of an exercise in "trial and error", as are finding lunch options in said area. On my first day, I discovered Crisp in Houston Heights. I had a salad, which was quite tasty, but at the advice of my server, I should try the burger upon my return. So, after having lunch with one of my favorite former co-workers yesterday (where I had a true "comfort burger" - blog to follow soon), I decided to try out the CRISP burger today.
All I can say is OMG! This is some burger! The first thing I noticed about the Hand Formed Patty, Balsamic Onion, Tomato, Basil, Aged Provolone, and Sage Mayo On Challah Bun was the aroma. The scents were heavenly, and the first bite was an explosion of flavors enveloping every corner and crevice of my mouth! Each bite was better and better! The juicy flavorful meat, topped on this sweet challah bun, was literally burger-perfection. The homemade rosemary and garlic fries were pretty darn amazing as well. As far as "gourmet" burgers go, this is one of THE best I have had in awhile! So, as I explore my lunch and burger options in The Heights, I'm sure I'll find more great burger experiences, but I will be back to CRISP often to relive this one!
