Burgers seem to be the food of the day in the Heights area, as new great finds are popping up in the Washington Avenue corridor. FM Kitchen is the brainchild of Ryan Hildebrandt, and his talent is on full display at this casual spot featuring drinks, food, music, and a huge patio with a variety of games including ping-pong and shuffle board.
The food is the true star at FM Kitchen. From salads and chicken sandwiches, to great tasting burgers, the food has been consistently good on each visit. The burger is simple and uncomplicated, yet the taste is exceptional. The hand-made patty is topped with Cheese, Lettuce, Tomato, Onion, Shhh Sauce. The fries look ordinary, but they are perfection in a cardboard container. The salty coating creates a tasty crispy texture with a tender middle. Once I devoured my order, I found myself stealing fries from my lunch partner. They are that good.
The service is friendly and attentive. The interior seating area is open, clean and sleek with industrial elements. The outdoor seating area is vast with covered and un-covered tables flanked by games and a music area with sand on the ground. If you are in the mood for a drink, FM Kitchen serves creative craft cocktails and a more than ample whiskey selection. While they tend to get crowded for dinner, lunch is less busy, and is my favorite time to stop by for a darn good burger.
Cheers to Eating More Burgers!
