"Lettuce" Elevate Your Burger

Last Saturday, I was at the beginning of my "I'm going to eat healthier" phase.  So, I thought that trying a burger spot I had been wanting to go to for sometime, and partaking in their healthy "lettuce wrap burger", would be a perfect match.  Well, not-so-much.

Let's face it, there are so many burger choices these days, and most of them are no longer fast-food options.  Elevation Burger on Kirby boasts that their burgers are 100% USDA-certified organic, 100% grass-fed, 100% free-range, 100% ground-on-premises beef.  All sounds great, and would not lead me to believe this was such a fast food environment.  Fast food environments don't turn me off, but this one did.

I ordered the burger on a lettuce bun.  While another person at the table was not impressed with the burger coming in a cardboard burger holder, that didn't bother me as much as the lack of taste.  With the lettuce truly making the burger bland and uninspiring, I had hoped that the flavor of their meat would compensate for the tasteless "bun".  It did not.  In fact, I remember little or next to nothing about this burger.  That's how good an impression it made.  The patties are thin, so there is no need to request the burger to be cooked "medium".  While fellow "burger buddies" of mine would recommend Elevation Burger, I would not.  With a normal burger, the bun would add to the experience.  I'm afraid that if I ordered a burger on a bun, if I went back to Elevation, the only thing I WOULD remember is the bun.
