Southern charm is alive and well in Houston, and in an unlikely place - The Post Oak. Tilman Fertitta recently unveiled this luxury crown jewel from the Landry's world of hospitality. Look beyond the glamour and the glitz, and you will see impeccable friendly service, great food, and the hidden gem that is Craft F&B.
Craft F&B is where you to go relax and enjoy comfort food and beverages. Creative appetizers, handcrafted or Neapolitan style pizzas, and salads highlight their menu, but burgers are the main attraction. With six hamburger options, I ordered The #1, which I found aptly named. This 1/2 lb. 100% American beef burger is prepared and served with two patties in what is commonly called smash-style. Yet, apparent in the photo below, this burger was anything but smashed. When you think Tilman Fertitta, like his burgers, you think "go big or go home".
The burger was impressive upon its arrival. Topped high with shredded lettuce, evenly melted cheese, tomato, house pickles, and secret sauce, The #1 was quite a sight to behold. Wrapping my mouth around that burger, I took the first bite where a savory explosion of flavors greeted my tastebuds. The meat was nicely charred, which created nice thin juicy patties. The brioche bun added a hint of sweetness for a nice contrast in tastes. While the burger was quite large, I somehow managed to eat every morsel until it was gone.
Only the memory of a delicious hamburger experience remains. That can be resolved by a return visit, which will happen very soon, this time sitting in their popular outdoor seating area sipping potent “Craft” cocktails.
Cheers to Eating More Burgers!
