When dining in France, I have observed that people don't just eat - they feast! Each meal is a dramatic production, accented with rich flavors and classic regal presentation. One local French cafe, étoile Cuisine et Bar, offers the same experience, even with their hamburger.
This quaint French cafe in Uptown Park offers a unique take on an American classic. In-house ground beef adorned with luscious gruyere cheese melting atop a house-made brioche bun created quite a splendid hamburger. The juicy medium cooked patty was flavorful with every bite; the gruyere offered a tasty contrast that stood out, but did not over-power. The toasted brioche bun was firm, yet fluffy, and offered a hint of sweetness. I felt a tad healthier opting for a tart side salad over the frites. While the frites are quite delicious, we are now in 2018, and resolutions for the new year are still on my mind.
Service here is a little relaxed, never rushed. This mood enhances the ambiance of this local favorite. But, the food is certainly the star at étoile.
Cheers to Eating More Burgers!
