From the team of Shawn Bermudez and Matthew Pak, please welcome the eagerly anticipated The Burger Joint, who recently opened their Montrose location. Eagerly anticipated, this new burger eatery with seating for 150 offers an impressive landscaped outdoor patio with lighting, bike spaces, and a generous supply of large screen televisions. I was excited to drop in over the weekend, and hoped the burgers would taste as great as the place looked.
As I queued up in line to place my order, I gawked at the large chalkboard menu staring at me ahead, and quickly opted for the Classic Burger built my way - lettuce, onion, light mayo along with the additions of bacon and cheddar cheese topped on their classic toasted bun. While that was an easy choice, deciding which fries to order required a little more thought. Hand-cut fries, sweet potato fries, queso fries, chili queso fries, or bacon parm fries? I opted for the bacon parm fries that did not disappoint.
After taking a little longer than I felt it should, the hamburger was placed in front of me at the counter where I had parked myself with hunger and anticipation. Served on a stainless tray, paired with the fries, the presentation was slick and simple, yet bursting with color. The bun was evenly toasted on the inside (a contrast to the dull looking outside) and the leafy lettuce was a deep shade of green. The cheddar cheese was evenly melting over the lettuce and the brown charred crust of the 100% Angus beef patty from the local 44 Farms. With the first bite, I confirmed it was worth the wait.
The Burger Joint serves a good burger at a good value, with single or double options starting at around $7. Robust tastes and flavors meld together for a tasty burger experience. The meat is automatically prepared to a medium temperature, which provided a subtle pink center. The charred crust kept the juices trapped in the center, where they should stay. The bacon parm fries had a firm crispy texture, topped with bacon bits, and a plentiful amount of sprinkled zesty Parmesan cheese. The portions, while not large, are generous and filling. Unable to finish all the fries, I did not walk away hungry. Not to be missed, though I did, their adult milk shakes come highly recommended. I will indulge on my next visit.
Cheers to Eating More Burgers!
